Fall asleep reading a book.
Pet a dog backwards.
Write in the margins, stars to direction.
Kindle your hands with warmth.
Let the ice cubes melt.
Tighten the mason jar lid and listen
(not then listen, always listen though).
Notice the color of the sky, even if it changes.
Rinse. Repeat.
I guess I never noticed
the crack in the ceiling before
now.
